Come to our free events at Wandsworth Libraries to celebrate October Diversity month. Join us for a special Italian Story time for 3 - 5 year and families during half term holidays.

Italian story time at Balham Library is on Wednesday 25th Oct 2017 at 2.00pm

Wandsworth Town Library Italian story time is at 3pm on Thursday 26th Oct 2017

No booking required. Come and sign up for a library card and browse through our collection of language books ranging from Arabic, Chinese, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish etc.

We welcome donations of Italian and Spanish children's books.

Wandsworth Town Library also runs regular rhyme times on Tuesdays at 9.45am and 2pm for 0 - 2 year old.  Story times are on Fridays at 10am for 2 - 5 year old.

We hope you sign up your children for a library membership card, so they can enjoy borrowing books, CDs and DVDs.

Booking is essential for events as places are limited. Your child would need to be a member of Wandsworth Libraries or you can sign up for a library card on the day. Ideally, we hope that you borrow a minimum of 5 books each, although you can borrow up to 20 items for 3 weeks. Books are free to borrow except DVDs which cost £1.50 to hire for a period of 1 week.

Local childcare consultancy 
Charlotte & Louise are running an event in Putney at the Putney Studio and Community Hall on Disraeli Road on the 4th February 2017 to help new and expectant parents manage everything to do with newborns’ sleep. 

"The event is called 'The Big Sleep Event’,” explains Charlotte, a Norland trained nanny who set up the childcare consultacy with fellow Norland nanny Louise. “It is a unique event aimed at expectant parents or those with a newborn. It encompasses everything that can impact upon the sleep of baby, with specialists and guest speakers to help parents get baby into a good routine.”

Charlotte & Louise run practical workshops based in and around South West London as well as private in-house workshops which are held from the comfort of your own home.  

"We are thrilled to have excellent specialists and guest speakers to help mums get baby into a good routine and get everybody having a better night's sleep!” adds Louise. 

Guest speakers include Beth Graham, a very talented and experienced midwife and lactation consultant (IBCLC), Lulu Johnson Becker, a specialist Women’s Health and Paediatric Physiotherapist and Pilar Manzanaro, founder of Purple Carrot Nutrition, a food and nutrition consultancy focusing on supporting health and wellbeing through a well-balanced, nutritious diet.
